Zones: 4-8. This is a very hardy and easy to grow succulent that is as popular as our mosses. Gold-green foliage on ¼ inch needle-like stubs on 1-2 inch stems. Yellow star flowers in summer. Perfect for the small container and troughs, Fairy Gardens and all small scale scenes. This and the darker Sedum acre are our major understory plants of the forests of our railroad. Sun to partial shade. Well drained soil. These plants are more condensed and compact in the container compared to growing in the ground at the Blacksmith Shop (see our Photo Gallery), where they spread out and will trail over cliffs and edges. The Sedum acre family grow in a wide variety of soils and present themselves in several ways depending on the circumstances.
