Mariken is a small ginkgo that is deer resistant, pollution resistant and easy to grow in moist but well drained medium PH soil. Leaves are small, slightly cupped, fantail shape. Excellent for Bonsai, patio plant or unique tree for small scale garden. Mariken is a male cultivar which means NO messy (and amazingly odoriferous fruit). It grows slowly to about 24 inches at 10 years then slightly larger with age depending on soil and climate. Photos show older plants changing colors in spring and summer .
