Pinus mugo ‘VALLEY CUSHION’

Pinus mugo ‘Valley Cushion’ a compact true small needled dwarf pine. Developed here in Oregon. Branches and needles so thick it looks like a green cushion. Ideal for small scale settings, rock gardens, Bonsai, Saikei, and troughs. Well branched. Not grafted. Our Valley Cushion is on self-root for strong growth. These are the best for Ishisuki (root over rock) as they produce exceptionally long roots. They require little or no pruning. Selected at the North Willamette Research Station in Oregon’s famed Willamette Valley, this cultivar is extremely hardy and an excellent choice for cold parts of the country.
